Daresbury Laboratory apprentices celebrate their success.

[STFC 2018]

On Wednesday 28th November I attended the annual Apprentice Awards Evening held at Daresbury Laboratory. As a first-year apprentice, I was invited to witness the achievements of the previous apprentices and hear their stories and experiences through various presentations from the apprentices themselves. It really helped me understand what could be accomplished and how much apprentices are appreciated here at STFC.

Having only started STFC 4 weeks prior to the awards evening, I felt it gave me the opportunity to get to know my fellow apprentices as well as my colleagues. As a new starter, I have already felt very welcomed into STFC, however, the awards evening added to this even more.

I could also see that all apprentices, whether they be Electrical Engineering, Project Management or Business Administration, studying at various levels are all valued as equally as each other.

In addition to this, it was also really nice to be able to bring along my family so that they could understand more about STFC and get to know a few of my colleagues who I will be working with whilst I complete my apprenticeship.

Overall the evening made me realise how highly thought of apprentices are here at STFC through the recognition of achievements, giving the first year apprentices motivation to work even harder and to do the best they possibly can.
