Louise’s role as Senior RF Scientist is to work on the RF
structures that interact with the particle beam. As part of this role Louise is
responsible for structure design, performing detailed simulation, modelling, and
characterisation. She also has expertise in tuning and low power measurement of
cavities.
Louise takes a leadership role in the high power
conditioning of RF cavities on CLARA and VELA, leads the RF commissioning work
on CLARA, and supports the machine operation by participating in commissioning
and operations shifts.
Parallel to her role in in ASTeC, Louise is also working on
a PhD with Lancaster University.
