I began working for ASTeC department in 2016. Prior to my current role, I worked in the housing sector, predominantly dealing with tenant disrepair and housing need for Burnley Borough Council. During my time at Burnley, I was interviewed by the CIH and I was part of the team that helped the council win the Gold 'Investors in People' award. I also won the Burnley Council's Make a Difference Award in 2015.
In my current role, I manage the administrative team within the Directorate, am responsible for ASTeC communications (such as the website and Twitter) and manage corporate events and scientific workshops on behalf of the department. Every day is a little different!
I also run a monthly book club at lunch-time for all STFC and Sci-tech Daresbury staff.
I live with my husband, cat, and two guinea pigs. In my spare time, I'm undertaking an MA in Egyptology, I draw a lot, read a lot and sometimes play guitar.
