Unlock the Future of Cryogenic Testing

Are you looking to test materials and components at cryogenic temperatures, but struggling to access the right facilities?

The National Cryogenic Facility (NCF), a major new user-focused centre at the Science & Technology Facility Council’s Daresbury Laboratory, is due to open in 2028.

Backed by newly announced government funding, NCF will provide world-class infrastructure to support cutting-edge innovation across sectors including quantum computing, fusion energy, green aviation, and space.

Designed with users at its core, the facility will offer both dedicated laboratory space for long-term partners and a state-of-the-art multi-user lab. With support from expert STFC staff, users will gain access to advanced equipment capable of testing materials and components across an extreme temperature range from below 1 Kelvin up to 80 Kelvin.

We are now inviting industry and academic stakeholders to help shape this national facility, and help define the cryogenic testing equipment and capabilities it should include.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the UK’s next generation of innovation infrastructure.

Join us on 17th June for an interactive workshop to help shape this national capability.
